In Maryland, Delaware and Virigina, employers are required by law to insure their liability for workers’ compensation. Deciding what kind of coverage you need can be confusing. Rossmann-Hurt-Hoffman, Inc is experienced in helping businesses obtain the right level of workers’ compensation insurance for their business.
Different businesses need different types of coverage. Trust RHH to analyze your business and liability to recommend the workers’ compensation to protect your employees and your business.

Commercial Auto Insurance Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need Commercial Auto Insurance?
For most construction businesses, a commercial auto insurance policy is essential. Whether you own or lease vehicles or need coverage for employee owned vehicles, we can help you choose the policy that's best for your business.
Will my employee’s personal vehicles be covered under a commercial auto insurance policy if they are used for business purposes?
Most commercial auto insurance policies provide liability coverage for employees using their personal vehicle for business purposes. In most cases, the employee’s personal auto insurance policy would cover damage to their automobile.
Do I need comprehensive and collision coverage on old business vehicles?
If you owe money on the vehicle, you will most likely need to continue to carry comprehensive and collision coverage on your business vehicle. If you do not owe money on the vehicle, you may decide to reduce your premiums by dropping coverage if it makes financial sense for your business. An RHH commercial auto insurance specialist can help you evaluate your vehicle and determine what type and amount of coverage is needed.
Contractors Insurance FAQs
What insurance is required for construction businesses?
To obtain a MHIC license, you must show proof of current $50,000 liability insurance at the time or original application and renewal license. Businesses that have one or more employees must also have Workers' Compensation insurance. Talk with an RHH insurance agent to find out what other types of insurance might be required for your business.
What is general liability insurance?
General liability provides protection from financial loss as a result of a lawsuit against the company. General liability will award damages to a third party who may have suffered damages (inducing loss of use of property) for which the insured is legally responsible. General liability will also cover the cost of defending the insured against the alleged charges including attorney fees and other legal expenses. General liability does not cover employee injuries, that is covered by Workers' Compensation insurance.
What is a Business Owners Policy?
A Business Owners Package combines your Liability, Property and other types of coverage into one comprehensive policy and which can help you save time and money on your total insurance program. Many business owners policies also provide coverage for loss of income in the event your business needs to close as the result of a covered loss.
